KORAY TULGAR

He was born on February 5, 1966 in Ankara . He graduated from Business Administration Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University, which is a department that combines engineering, marketing, administrative sciences and financing in 1987. Afterwards he became a research assistant in Bogaziçi University and he went to study for master's degree on Banking and Finance in University of Wales , the second best university in England by a scholarship from the government.

After being employed as an expert in Budget and Planning Department of Pamukbank in 1990 he became the Financial Control and Planning Manager after Financial Control and Budget Planning Departments were combined together.

long with working on planning, budgeting, cost/income analysis, reporting, internal pricing and accounting he also worked on profitability, productivity, performance and MIS of the Bank. He continued this duty until 1996, and then he was transferred to Demirbank.

His book “Asset-Liability Method for Commercial Banks”  was published in 1993 by Turkish Banks Association.

He participated to trainings about Financial Planning in Brugge city in Switzerland and about Internal Pricing in London . He was accepted to “Dynargie” Management Development and Consultancy Company of which the headquarters is located in Switzerland after very difficult and hard elimination. He was trained as a Management Consultant in Innsburck, Lisbon and London and he acted as a consultant.

He worked in Turkey with institutions like Garanti Bankasi, Tofas, Netas, Tansas and Pamukbank. Tulgar, who returned to Pamukbank with a different mission, took part in “Future's banking” project with McKinsey, which was a project for reorganization of Pamukbank and which changed the whole structure of the bank. During the same period, he worked at Pamuk “ Financial Service Center ”, which is the Irish participation of Pamukbank and he acted as the General Manager of this company for a short time.

During all these works, he participated to seminars and trainings about strategic planning, general accounting, capital efficiency, banking, asset-liability management, bank accounting, etc.

Tulgar, who has been acting as a Director in Bayindir Finance Sector Management Center in the structure of Bayindir Holding since 1999, was a member of the Board of Directors of Bayindir Hayat Sigorta, Bayindir Faktoring, Bayindir Sigorta, Bayindir Leasing and Baysis (Bayindir process software firm), he ensure coordination of all Bayindir companies.

Tulgar who went to Romania upon a special requirement acted as the Assistant General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors of BTR (Banco Turco Romana) until October 2000. At the same time he also acted as the member of Board of Directors of BTR Moldava Bank, BTR Sigorta, BTR Leasing and Bayindir Land Development.

Tulgar has compiled, collected and published all laconism of the famous French philosopher La Roucefacoult as a book. He won the first price in a poetry competition organized by the Social Activities Foundation of Pamukbank in 1995. He was one of the founders of KARE in order to share his executive experience of 16 years to other people and organizations. He has provided consultancy to more than 40 firms until today and he ensured a measurable increase in their performances.
